PEX – Practical Effects

In the ’80s and ’90s, the film industry experienced a golden age of visual effects, marked by incredible creativity and innovation. In an era when computer graphics were still in their infancy, many artists dedicated themselves to creating props using reclaimed materials and analog techniques. From a young age, I found inspiration in cinema and music; since I didn’t have many toys, I began to make my own using parts from old electronic devices and plastic, giving new life to materials by creating creatures and gadgets that evoke the cyberpunk aesthetic and imagery I grew up with. Each piece tells a story, a fusion of nostalgia and innovation, a tribute to a time when imagination knew no bounds. These objects are not only reminders of a bygone era but also represent an invitation to explore the beauty of reuse and creativity.
